Alfred Morris is a great move for the Cowboys

I almost find it funny hearing fans ask why we signed Alfred Morris. As they put it “His production is going downhill and he’s done. We don’t need him we have Darren McFadden. “ Or the other one I keep hearing is “We should have resigned DeMarco Murray or traded for him.” Did you look at McFadden’s numbers before the Cowboys signed him? Talk about numbers going downhill, his had dropped off a cliff. He avg. 3.4 yards per carry or less for three seasons in a row and couldn’t stay healthy.  Speaking of dropping off a cliff did you see what happened to Murray’s numbers when he went to Philadelphia? He went from 4.6 yards per carry to 3.6 in Philadelphia.

So you think giving up something to bring Murray back with his high contract is a good idea but signing a guy that had 3.7 last year, that’s been a two time pro bowl player with a 4.4 yard career avg. to a cheap contract is a bad idea? People it’s the system I.E. the offensive line that is the variable.

Murray and McFadden stayed healthy because they weren’t getting hit in the backfield by 300+ linemen every play. They were able to get up to full speed and take glancing blows from linebacker and DB’s. That’s why McFadden’s avg. jumped a yard per carry and Murray’s dropped a yard without them. Alfred Morris will do great in this system especially with a healthy Tony Romo and Dez Bryant to spread the field. In the NFL more time than not it’s the smaller moves that get you ahead not the big ones. This time last year which free agent move looked bigger DeMarco Murray of Chris Johnson?

Turns out the Chris Johnson was the better move, his avg. a half yard better than Murray last season. Alfred Morris is a great pickup that doesn’t break the bank. I for one can’t wait to see him play against the Redskins twice a year with something to prove. This move is Jobu approved and gets four shots of rum!

It’s Mock Draft time!

2016-02-18 21.13.54

Hello friends. Jobu here. Well it’s the silly season again better known as the NFL off-season. One of the silliest things has to be the “Mock Draft”. The draft experts have to be the only ones to make weather forecasters look accurate. I guess when you put out 50 different mock drafts you can say “I said that they were going to draft him.” We haven’t even gotten to the combine and Mel Kipper is already on his 2.0. So far here are the players that the Cowboys are supposed to be picking with the 4th pick: Carson Wentz, DeForest Buckner, Jared Goff,  Joey Bosa and Jalen Ramsey. Wow!! That’s a lot for one pick. Jerry you pull that one off you’ll be the executive of the century.

In the end these guy really don’t have any more clue then you or me. Remember when Dallas traded a first and a second pick to move to the 6th pick for Morris Claiborne? The draft experts said “He’s a can’t miss pick, ball hawker and bold move that will make the Cowboy defense great.” In four seasons he’s had a total of three INT’s and has had a hard time staying on the field.  Looks like he’s on the way out the door. How about when Dallas traded back and drafted Travis Frederick and used the extra pick to draft Terrace Williams? The draft experts thought that was the biggest joke in the draft. What was Jerry Jones thinking? So far he’s been a two time Pro Bowler, two time second team All Pro, PFWA All NFC and All Rookie team. Seems like the joke was on them. One last one for you.

How about the Redskins trading three number one and a second round pick to move up and drafted RG3. The experts said they had their franchise quarterback for the next 10-15 years. That same draft class Russell Wilson didn’t get drafted until the third round and was thought to be too small to be an NFL starter. Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin, Ryan Tannehill and Brandon Weeden were all drafted ahead of him. BRANDON WEEDEN, yes that Brandon Weedon, the one who couldn’t win one game in Cleveland or Dallas.  He was supposed to be behind Matt Flynn. So far he’s been to two Super Bowls winning one, three time Pro Bowler and NFL Passing Rating leader. They were spot on weren’t they?

Got to go I think Mel just came out with his 3.0 mock.
